Nantucket Shingle Style

From the tiny doghouse dormers to the red cedar roof and trellises for training roses, this diminutive cottage embodies many of the classic elements of a shingle style house.

The opposite end of the spectrum: though nearly 12,000 sf overall, the classic styling of the Grahamsí summer house on Nantucket keeps it from seeming outlandish.

Custom copper pans will protect these attic vents from leaking despite the notorious horizontal rain of a Nantucket winter.

This funky bungalow-style bed and breakfast was converted into a wonderful summer home with beds for all. The widows walk provides amazing views of the harbor.

Finishing touches: a hefty chunk of Douglas fir serves a mantle on this double-sided fireplace.
